UKGC Wants To Hear What Others Have To Say

UKGC Wants To Hear What Others Have To Say

Just recently, we talked about the rules that UKGC wanted to implement concerning gamblers and their safety.

This entire idea is considered to be a huge step towards making some changes. Now, they want to speed up this whole process.

What Now?

The Commission is calling for views on this idea and wants to find a way to hasten it in order to find a perfect solution that is going to help them make this industry secure and stable.

They want to hear opinions from every single participant, which includes players, gambling business and other interested groups. Their goal is to decrease negative effects gambling could potentially cause and at the same time help users in quarrels with operators.

Focusing On Customers:

Customer interaction depicts how gambling businesses affect them and it’s all about finding a way to help the ones who are at risk (or are currently experiencing) of having any issues precisely with it.

That’s one of the reasons why they are asking for views on bolstering our expectations on identifying and communicating with users, assessing what is beneficial and analyzing the regulator’s guidance on consumer interaction.

Rules Regarding Complaints:

Frequently, various operators are facing different complaints and accusations from the users, therefore, they must find a way to handle them.

All of them who are licensed must meet specified standards during this process and give dispute resolution by an ADR provider.

Furthermore, the UKGC has come to a decision to consult on whether they should demand from operators to only utilize ADR providers who have already met additional standards they have appointed.

Blocking Software:

Besides all these segments we mentioned above, this regulator is also asking for views via a call for evidence on whether operators should give access to blocking software without charging their users and if they do, how it could be delivered.

What’s the point of this program? It detects various gambling products and it instantly enables users to block them on either their computer, mobile phones or tablet.

Paul Hope, Gambling Commission Executive Director, gave his statement regarding this project and said:

“We would like as many people as possible to have their say on these two consultations and the call for evidence. The proposed changes are intended to accelerate progress in protecting consumers and preventing them from experiencing gambling related harm

Making gambling fairer and safer is at the heart of how we regulate and better customer interaction, higher ADR standards and facilitating readily available blocking software are all part of this.”

Comment: I love how persistent they are! Someone has to do something about it and right now they are the only ones doing the right thing!
