GVC Holdings Supports Changing for the Bettor

The gambling industry is continuously on the rise, therefore, it means that each year the arrival of new gamblers can be expected.

In order to keep things safe and secure as much as possible, GVC Holdings, the multinational sports betting and gaming group decided to make a change by supporting a global responsible gambling campaign called, Changing for the Bettor.

The Purpose of the Project:

The primary goal of this campaign is to further fortify GVC as one of the best solutions when it comes to betting. Today, they are surely one of the most reliable operators in this industry and this project is going to prove that.

This plan consists of seven segments and each of them has essential projects attached:

  1. Understanding the problem and best solutions: Including today’s proclamation of a multi-million study with the Division on Addiction, Cambridge Health Alliance, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital.
  2. Educating our key stakeholders: The primary goal of this section is to inform and educate youth, creating various programmes with the charity GamCare in the United Kingdom. This represents withal the biggest project of this type in this country along with a state-school awareness campaign with EPIC Risk Management.
  3. Promoting responsible attitudes: This focuses on recent events concerning a ban on pre-watershed gambling ads that were seen on television.
  4. Empowering customers: Unveiling the “markers of harm” algorithm to every UK member of the business.
  5. Funding treatment for those in need: In this one they want to invest money into education, thorough exploration and solve problems that concern gambling.
  6. Championing responsible product design: Creating more liable product design tenets.
  7. Drive cultural change within their business: Incorporating a safer gambling approach into all aspects of their business. In order to make sure that everything functions perfectly, they are cooperating with the Safer Online Gambling Group.

Investing in the Future:

In order to fully comprehend gambling problems (and at the same time decrease them) they are going to conduct very strict explorations that are going to help them do that.

Furthermore, in the next five years, they are also planning on investing $5 million into their latest collaboration with Harvard Medical School faculty Division on Addiction.

This research will not only focus on one area, but on multiple ones that mustn’t be avoided! They include: Patterns of normal internet gambling behavior, behavioral markers of gambling problems among internet players generally and on specific betting and game types, cross-product analyses, cross-brand analyses and the effects of the expansion of gambling in new markets.

Grainne Hurst, GVC’s Director of Responsible Gaming talked about the announcement and stated:

“Whilst the vast majority of our customers enjoy playing with us in a safe and fun environment we are aware that for some players, gambling can impact their lives negatively. We are committed to leading the industry in minimising potential harm caused by problem gambling. That is why we are today launching Changing for the Bettor and have partnered with Harvard faculty at the Division on Addiction to help us to better understand and tackle the issues around problem gambling.”
