The American Gaming Association (AGA) announced today that Bill Miller is going to become next chief executive officer and president. His mandate begins January 14, 2019. The entire search for the right one was long and thorough however, they have managed to choose the proper person.
Miller’s Beginnings:
For a certain period of time, he was a senior vice president at the 1972-founded Business Roundtable during which he helped the organization grow and expand, leading the association’s outreach to Capitol Hill and the Administration.
Bill is very honored to be given this opportunity to once again showcase his ability for guiding and strengthening this association. He stated:
“I am honored to join a team with a well-earned reputation for advancing the casino gaming industry’s legislative and communications priorities and addressing the issues that matter most to its members,” said Miller. “Much to the AGA’s credit, this is a remarkable time for gaming in America. The industry is growing, acceptance of gaming as mainstream entertainment has never been higher and the opportunities to continue to advance gaming’s agenda are abundant. I am eager to help lead the industry in this next era.”
What Else Happened?
Back in June, a search committee that consists of seven members was formed. It was led by CEO of Penn National Gaming and Chairman of the AGA Board of Directors, Tim Wilmott. Just like many others, he is also very pleased with Mr. Miller.
He accentuated how his work with federal policymakers and his role as a seasoned leader of membership and industry advocacy organizations were decisive when it comes to putting their trust in him as brand-new president.
Mr. Wilmott added that he also thinks that they have chosen the best possible moment to hire him because currently, gaming industry is currently in a very good place. He continued:
“The Board is extremely thankful for the leadership of Stacy Papadopoulos and Sara Slane, and the commitment of the entire AGA team during this period of transition.”
Miller & The Gaming Industry:
As we previously mentioned, Miller has picked a perfect time to join the AGA since gaming industry is blossoming and generally getting more popular. His knowledge and experience at guiding trade associations and business groups will surely be of great benefit during his mandate.

Comment: I’ve never heard of this man, but judging by the information I found here, he seems like a competent person. Also, I love the fact that the gaming industry is moving in the right direction.
